Madison West

Veteran

Madison West joined the military after 9/11 hoping to serve his country in a time of war. After completing Basic Training and Airborne school he attended Ranger Indoctrination Program and was sent to a Ranger battalion. He did two tours overseas in support of the Global War on Terror.

After leaving the military in 2007 he struggled with Post Traumatic Stress and entered a downward spiral of alcoholism. The isolation that comes with being a veteran in this country compounded his experiences in war. In 2008 the Army tried to call him back to active duty and he was forced to go to the VA hospital to seek medical treatment. After a 9 month process the army accepted the VA's judgement and honorably discharged him from the Military.
