Manjula Dissanayake

Founding President, Educate Lanka Foundation

Manjula Dissanayake is the founding president of Educate Lanka Foundation, a 501-c-3 nonprofit social venture that empowers promising students from underprivileged backgrounds with access to education. Manjula, originally from Sri Lanka, has a bachelor’s in finance from the University of Maryland and a master’s in international development and social entrepreneurship from The Fletcher School at Tufts University. His previous work experience includes five years in corporate banking and consulting positions with the U.S. State Department and International Finance Corporation at the World Bank. In 2012, upon completing his graduate studies, he pursued his passion as a social entrepreneur by dedicating his career to Educate Lanka. Residing in Washington D.C., he continues to explore creative and innovative solutions for issues relating to education and sustainable development. He is an avid cricketer who enjoys traveling and exploring foreign cultures.
