Minister of Environment of Peru & Former COP 20‐CMP 10 President

Manuel Pulgar-Vidal is the Minister of Environment of Peru, and a lawyer specializing in environmental law and policy.

He has served as President of COP 20‐CMP 10. In 1986 he founded the Peruvian Society for Environmental Law, one of the most recognized organizations of environmental law in the region, where he served as Executive Director for 20 years.

Prof. Vidal has participated in the development of environmental policy frameworks in many countries of the Region, as an advisor to decision makers and also many project initiatives. He is the author of papers regarding his specialty and has written many articles in various environmental magazines. He is a professor and lecturer in environmental law, environmental management and natural resources.

He has also served as President of Inter American Association for Environmental Defense, AIDA Fund Steering Committee for the Conservation of Watersheds and Water Resources of Lima and Callao, AquaFund; President, Permanent Seminar on Agricultural Research; Director, National Fund for Natural Areas Protected by the State, PROFONANPE; Alliance Director, Tropical Andes.
