Marc Caplan is Senior Advisor on Democracy Issues and Coordinator of Money in Politics at Common Cause. He works closely with the Democracy Initiative to create new partnerships on issues of money in politics and electoral reform.

Before joining Common Cause in 2014, Marc spent eight years, as director of the Piper Fund, a project of the Proteus Fund. In that role, he was an anchor in the money in politics field as both a funder and a strategist, supporting creative state efforts to win citizen-based financing of elections. Marc also is a former Director of Northeast Action, a regional support center for citizen organizing and advocacy in New England and New York, and a key leader of progressive organizing and electoral efforts in Connecticut.
