CALmatters is a nonprofit nonpartisan public interest journalism venture focused on California state politics and policy based in Sacramento. CALmatters launched in July 2015 with six employees and they produced a series of stories about California’s climate change policies that were published in more than 40 newspapers statewide and broadcast on radio in Los Angeles, the Bay Area, Sacramento and elsewhere. Today we have more than 100 media partners, a staff of 12, and we are the largest media organization covering California state government.
