Marian Hatcher is project manager for women’s justice programs and human-trafficking coordinator in the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, where she has worked for ten years. She coordinates several major anti-trafficking efforts, including the “National Day of Johns Arrests,” with more than 70 law enforcement agencies targeting the buyers as the driving force of sex-trafficking and prostitution. She is a survivor of sex trafficking, and is active in national survivor-led organizations including the Survivor Leadership institute and SPACE International; SPACE stands for ‘Survivors of Prostitution-Abuse Calling for Enlightenment.’ She has won numerous awards, including Shared Hope International’s Path Breaker Award. She serves as coordinator for Demand Abolition’s CEASE Network initiative in Cook County, Illinois.
