Marjorie Hines Woollacott, PhD, has been a neuroscience professor and director of the Motor Control and Cognition Lab in the Institute for Neuroscience at the University of Oregon for more than three decades and a meditator for almost four. She has performed research on meditation and tai chi, and has received grants from National Institutes of Health to study balance and falls in older adults and to study balance and control problems in children with Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome.
