Mark Hodson

London-based travel writer

Mark Hodson has been a travel journalist for more than two decades. After quitting a desk job at a newspaper in the 1990s, he spent three consecutive winters backpacking around India, Central America and South East Asia. He then settled down for 12 years, working as a full-time freelance travel writer at The Sunday Times in London. During that time he visited more than 70 countries and had more than 500 articles published. In 2010, he was voted by fellow journalists as one of the Top 50 Travel Writers in the UK. In 2014, he was named Aito Travel Blogger of the Year. Mark is co-founder of the travel inspiration websites, 101 Holidays and 101 Honeymoons.
