Mark Kleinschmidt currently serves as the mayor of Chapel Hill, N.C. During the day Mayor Kleinschmidt works as an attorney for Tin Fulton Walker Owen in downtown Chapel Hill. He was elected in 2001 to the Chapel Hill Town Council and most recently in 2009 to the Office of Mayor. Mayor Kleinschmidt is one of seven openly gay elected officials in the state of North Carolina.
