Marshall Grossman is Professor of English at the University of Maryland. The author of scholarly books and articles on literary history and the literature of the renaissance, he also writes occasionally on contemporary culture and politics. His current projects are a study of the ethics of reading now and in the Renaissance and a literary history of seventeenth-century England.
