Martha Lufkin

Award-winning humor writer, art law journalist and lawyer

Martha Lufkin has published humor columns for two decades in Boston area newspapers including The Boston Globe, The Lincoln Journal, and The Lexington Minuteman, and won a first prize award for humor from the New England Press Association. Her other tales -- mysteries poking tantalizing fun at estate and art lawyers -- have appeared in Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine. Since 1997, Martha has been a legal correspondent for The Art Newspaper, an influential international monthly, covering Nazi-looted art, stolen antiquities, and other art law topics. An award-winning speaker, she has appeared at numerous venues and on National Public Radio, speaking on Nazi-looted art and art law. She is a lawyer in Boston, Massachusetts. Martha’s book of newspaper humor columns, The Lady in the Hat, was published in 2011.
