Martín Santiváñez

Visiting Fellow at the Center for Transatlantic Relations at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced Studies at Johns Hopkins University

Martín Santiváñez is a Visiting Fellow at the Center for Transatlantic Relations at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced Studies at Johns Hopkins University. He is currently a researcher at the Navarra Center for International Development (NCID-University of Navarra). Dr. Santiváñez holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Navarra and is a Member of the Royal Academy of Moral and Political Sciences (Spain) and a member of the Peruvian Academy of Political Sciences.

Professor Santiváñez was selected as a “Leader Scholar” of the Carolina Foundation and the Santander Central Hispano Bank (awarded to the 50 best academic records of Latin American universities). He is a recipient of the medal of Honour of the Paraguayan Academy of Law and Medal of Honour of the University of Lima for coming first in the 2000-I Class of the School of Law and Political Sciences. In 2012 he was chosen by Fundarte and Casa de América as one of the most influential Latin Americans in Spain.

He is also a columnist at El Mundo (Spain), El Nuevo Herald (U.S.A.), Infobae (Argentina), La Nación (Costa Rica), El Tiempo (Colombia), El Universal (Venezuela), El Universo (Ecuador), Correo (Peru), ABC Digital (Paraguay) and El Diario (Bolivia). His comments have widely appeared in Latin America and Spanish broadcasts.
