Marvi Matos

R&D director, engineer, wife, mother of two girls, mentor and STEM outreach volunteer

Marvi Matos works as R&D director in the aerospace sector. She is trained as a Chemical Engineer with a BS from the University of Puerto Rico and PhD from Carnegie Mellon University and worked as postdoc at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) under a fellowship from the National Research Council. She served as Lecturer in Chemical Engineering and later as a Senior Research Scientist in Bioengineering at the University of Washington. She also worked as independent consultant in the field of engineering innovations and intellectual property development prior to working in the aerospace industry.

Marvi is married with two wonderful girls. In her free time she volunteers and blogs to inspire young women to pursue careers in STEM and she mentors students and engineers.
