Co-Executive Director of AmeriCorps Alums

Mary Bruce is Co-Executive Director of AmeriCorps Alums, the only national network that connects the nearly 900,000 alumni of all AmeriCorps programs to the people, ideas and resources that support their commitment to a lifetime of service. AmeriCorps Alums is an enterprise of Points of Light, the largest organization in the world dedicated to volunteer service. She is a national service champion with more than a decade of experience working to grow and scale high-impact nonprofit organizations. She is an AmeriCorps Alum (Washington, D.C., 1999-2000) as well as a Returned Peace Corps volunteer (Morocco, 2004-2006). She joined the Washington, D.C. office of Alums from her most recent role as Senior Education Advisor at Civic Enterprises, where she led Civic Enterprises’ education policy portfolio, including their work with the Grad Nation Civic Marshall Plan Leadership Council, which brings together more than 40 leading national partners to reach the goal of 90 percent high school graduation rates by 2020. She has co-authored major reports on education, including the 2012 and 2013 annual report "Building A Grad Nation" which reached over 190 million Americans through more than 1,100 news stories in 2012. Mary earned her MPA in Domestic Policy from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University and a BA in Poverty Studies from the University of Virginia.
