Founder of the All-Weather Friend, author of Alzheimer's: A Crash Course for Friends and Relatives

Mary Cail, PhD, created the All-Weather Friend as a way of helping people find strength from friendship during life's hardest challenges. She is the author of Alzheimer's: A Crash Course for Friends and Relatives and Between Jobs: Ten Ways to Help a Friend Who's Unemployed. Her work has been recognized in Virginia, where she lives, and in many national publications. Her op-eds and articles on Alzheimer's have been published by the Los Angeles Times, the Miami Herald, the Chicago Tribune and mariashriver.com. Alzheimer's: A Crash Course for Friends and Relatives was chosen for inclusion in the 2015 Virginia Festival of the Book, and her work to create social opportunities for Alzheimer's patients and caregivers in her community was featured on the Charlottesville Newsplex series, Stephanie's Heroes.
