Maryann Manelski is a writer and filmmaker whose current project is "the Secret Maps Project," a set of films and writings about grief and surviving loss and featuring the documentary and book, "the Grief Monomyth." She is a regular contributor to Grief Digest Magazine. Maryann has a degree in Film and Television from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and began her career at the William Morris Agency (now WME). She also worked in video production/post-production and distribution at Atlantic Records, BMG Video, and Winstar/Wellspring (which was previously Fox Lorber and later became the Weinstein Company.) Her previous documentary, “Running in High Heels,” and book, “American Catfight,” explored women and politics and the social requirements for women to be represented proportionally in American government. After a seven-year hiatus to care for her ailing father and sister, she is producing works that explore caregiving, grief, and transcending loss. You can contact her survivingloss.org.
