Maria Elena Vizcaino is a rising senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She previously attended Miami Dade College, where she served as the editor-in-chief of the student newspaper, The Reporter. This fall she will serve as the assistant director of enterprise for UNC's independent student newspaper, The Daily Tar Heel. Her work has been featured in the Orlando Sentinel and the (Durham) Herald-Sun.
