President & General Manager of the Toronto Raptors

Masai Ujiri became the first African-born General Manager of a North American professional sports team 2010. A recipient of the prestigious NBA Executive of the Year award in 2013, he has a proven record as winner and a pioneer. Currently serving as President & General Manager of the Toronto Raptors, his squad won a team-record 48 games and reached the playoffs for the first time in six years. Ujiri was Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations with the Denver Nuggets (2010-13) and qualified for the playoffs in three straight years. A native of Nigeria, Ujiri tirelessly promotes the game of basketball throughout Africa. He is the founder of the Giants of Africa Foundation, and has served as director for the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders program since 2002. Ujiri was named one of the Sports Business Journal's Top-50 Most Influential Behind the Scene People in Sports.
