Matt Lewis is a writer, blogger, and commentator based in Alexandria, VA. He is a regular contributor to Politics Daily and to Townhall.com, the nation’s leading conservative opinion web site with more than 50 million monthly page views and 1.6 million unique visitors per month, according to Nielsen NetRatings.

As a political commentator, Matt has appeared on Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, and C-SPAN, as well as on numerous radio shows, including NPRs Talk of the Nation, The Hugh Hewitt Show, and The Mike Gallagher Show. He has been quoted by major publications such as, The Washington Post and The New York Times. He has also authored articles and blogs for publications such as PoliticsDaily.com, Townhall.com, Politico, Human Events Online, and Campaigns & Elections Magazine.

Matt is also a highly sought after speaker, who has spoken for diverse groups including: The Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership, American University's Campaign Management Institute, and Regent University.

In March 2007, Matt was one of two bloggers invited on John McCain's campaign tour bus on a visit to New Hampshire for an interview with the candidate. That September, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich acknowledged in an interview with Matt that he was considering a presidential run. In 2008, Matt was a credentialed blogger at the RNC National Convention in Minneapolis, MN.

In February of 2009, Matt became a co-host of "The Week in Blog," a weekly diavlog on Bloggingheads.TV, which focuses on the best political blog posts each week. Matt grew up in Myersville, MD and graduated from Shepherd College (now University) in Shepherdstown, WV.
