Matthew A. Strimaitis

College student, poet, short fiction writer and aspiring musician

Matthew is a poet, short fiction writer, and aspiring musician from the San Francisco Bay Area. Inspired by poets such as T.S. Eliot and Shel Silverstein, he has been actively writing since his early elementary years. Currently attending Bellarmine College Preparatory, Matthew is a member of a highly selective writers guild through the school and is currently the president of the BDUB club. He’s pursued his passion by spending a summer attending a gifted writing program at Stanford University to continue to develop his literary skills.

Matthew has a tendency to write using abstract imagery and purposeful diction to convey greater ideas. Some of these recurring ideas include the theological battle of good versus evil and the power of imagination. Matthew, as a visual learner, is more prone to use experimental configurations of text loosely inspired by E.E. Cummings.
