Director of The Art Genome Project, Artsy
Matthew is an art historian, writer and educator and is currently the Director of The Art Genome Project at Artsy.
His book on American artists’ political engagement during the Vietnam War, Kill for Peace, was published in Fall 2013 by University of Texas Press.
Matthew has taught modern and contemporary art history at New York University and Parsons, The New School for Design and has written articles for ARTFORUM, Frieze and Art in America. Matthew has also contributed to catalogues for The College Art Association, The Whitney Museum of American Art, the New Museum, Gagosian Gallery, and Cheim & Read Gallery.
