Mauri Ditzler

President, Monmouth College

Mauri Ditzler is the 13th president of Monmouth College, a private liberal arts college in western Illinois founded in 1853. A native of Indiana, where he still maintains a family fruit farm, he earned his Ph.D. from Duke and taught chemistry at College of the Holy Cross before returning to his alma mater Wabash College. There, as dean, he helped establish the National Center of Inquiry in the Liberal Arts. At Monmouth, he recently spearheaded the construction of a $40 million facility devoted to intellectual collaboration between the sciences and business.
