Melanie Benjamin is the author of ALICE I HAVE BEEN, a novel about the real Alice in Wonderland that is now out in paperback. As Melanie Hauser, she has published two contemporary novels. ALICE I HAVE BEEN is her first work of historical fiction and the first under this name. Benjamin lives in Chicago; her second historical novel, THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF MRS.
