Melanie Oppenheimer is a rising senior at the University of Maryland studying Jewish Studies with a minor in International Development and Conflict Management. She is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. Melanie spent the last semester studying abroad in Cape Town, South Africa where she spent time volunteering at a children's home and the township Khayelitsha alongside studying. Melanie is passionate about women's rights and is excited to be interning with Vital Voices this summer at the Global Leadership Network Intern.
