Melinda Hill

Melinda Hill is an award-winning comedian, writer and actress who has created, written, and starred in 4 digital series which have garnered millions of views on multiple platforms. Laughspin calls her “a wonderfully prolific, whip-smart comedian” while LA Weekly calls her “the queen bee of alt-lounge comedy” and The Examiner describes her as “a DIY female Louie.” From her viral videos she was selected to perform as a semifinalist on America’s Got Talent and hired as a staff writer on the TV series “Kickin It.” Her work is focused on female empowerment and giving a voice to the voiceless. Her web series THE PROGRAM, co-created with Maria Bamford and produced by Funny or Die, was named one of LA Weekly’s “10 best web series of 2014” while her series ROMANTIC ENCOUNTERS WITH MELINDA HILL was recognized for “outstanding acting and writing in a comedy series” by LA Weekly Web Awards, LA Web Fest, IndieWire, and LA Film Fest. It was later acquired for international distribution in 50 countries and is now being developed into a feature film. She has also written and directed projects for Super Deluxe, Huffington Post Comedy and Channel 101. As an actress and comedian, she voices multiple characters on the Emmy award-winning series Adventure Time and is the other half of the viral hit Confessions of a Tooth Fairy with Kristen Wiig. Since she frequently plays a heightened version of herself in her own work, she is often cast as herself in TV shows like the Cameron Crowe and JJ Abrams produced “Roadies.” Her local show “What’s Up Tiger Lily” has been featured as “best stand-up show” in LA Weekly and LAist and she is a regular contributor for XOJane and Huffington Post Comedy.
