Melissa Levis

Vermont Country Innkeeper and New York City Kiddie Rocker

Melissa Levis is the marketing director and head of group sales at the Wilburton Inn in Manchester, Vermont that her family has owned and run for 30 years. She lives the Green Acres life and alternates weeks between being a Vermont country innkeeper and New York City songwriter. Fusing these very different lives, Melissa is delighted to be the new Maria von Trapp and singing Vermont family innkeeper. Prior to joining the Wilburton, Melissa created the popular children’s band, Moey’s Music Party, and performed for 10,000 kids a year at venues including Central Park, the New York Public Library, The Tribeca Film Festival and FAO Schwarz. Her CD, “Princess Revolution!” received a Parents’ Choice Gold Award. For three decades Melissa wrote songs to honor Prime Ministers, Presidential hopefuls, movie stars, philanthropists, socialites, brides and CEOs. Earlier in her career, she encouraged tycoons of the Hamptons to channel their inner rock star in her band, “Melissa & the Moguls and their CD, “Ooh La La Hamptons.” Her musical, “The Joys of Sex” won “Best Director” and “Audience Favorite” awards at the New York Fringe Festival and transferred to a two-month run Off-Broadway at the Variety Arts Theatre. Melissa is a frequent blogger on The Huffington Post and has been profiled in The New York Times, The New York Post and Harper's Bazaar. She is a graduate of Middlesex School and Brown University and has an MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from New York University. She gave a TEDx talk on the Midlife Renaissance and is proud to be a GRAMMY voter.
