Meret Hofer

PhD student in community psychology; sister of fallen Euless, TX, police officer David Hofer; hopeful promoter of dialogue and understanding

Meret Hofer comes from an international, multi-ethnic family, immigrating to the U.S. at fourteen with her family. She holds an MA in Humanities and Social Thought from New York University and is currently a PhD candidate in Community Psychology. Her two main lines of research include 1) community influences on youth's risk and resilience; and 2) disproportionate contact between law enforcement and minority communities. On March 1st, 2016, Meret's brother, David S. Hofer, a police officer in Euless, TX, was shot and killed in the line of duty in an ambush attack.
