Merl Reagle is the Sunday crossword creator for the Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and over 40 other major newspapers. He made his first crossword puzzle at age 6 and sold his first crossword to the New York Times at age 16.

He was one of the stars of the 2006 puzzle documentary “Wordplay,” along with Bill Clinton and Jon Stewart, and he appeared on “Oprah” that same year. Most recently he appeared as a character on “The Simpsons,” where he played himself and did his own voice. He is the author of 15 crossword books and lives with his “much better half” Marie in Tampa, Florida.
