Author, 'The Book of Duels'

Michael Garriga comes from a long line of notable Creole outlaws and storytellers. He's worked as a bartender, shrimp picker, and a soundman in a bluesbar. His writing has been published extensively in magazines and journals, including New Letters, the Black Warrior Review, storySouth, and the Southern Review. Now he earns his keep teaching writing to the sons and daughters of Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio, where he lives with his wife and two baby boys. The Book of Duels is his first collection.
