Powers, author of Acts of God and Man: Ruminations on Risk and Insurance, is professor of risk and insurance mathematics at Tsinghua University's School of Economics and Management, and professor of risk management and insurance (on leave) at Temple University's Fox School of Business. He serves as chief editor of the Journal of Risk Finance and the Asia-Pacific Journal of Risk and Insurance.
