Michelle Duster

Michelle Duster is an author, speaker and writing professor at Columbia College Chicago. She has written, published and contributed to a total of nine books, two of which include the writings of her great-grandmother, Ida B. Wells. In addition to working with a committee to create a monument to Wells, she works tirelessly to promote the contributions that African Americans and women have made to the United States. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from Dartmouth College and her M.A. in Media Studies from The New School.
