High tech social entrepreneur

Mike Mathieu is a high tech social entrepreneur and founder of Front Seat, a civic software company in Seattle. Front Seat operates Walk Score, which is used by more than 4,000 real estate web sites to help people find walkable places to live. Other projects include ObamaCTO.org and CountMore.org, two civic engagement sites; and the Predatory Lending Association, a political satire against the pay day loan industry. Mathieu serves on the advisory board for the Democracy Alliance's New Media Ventures initiative.

Prior to Front Seat, Mathieu spent a decade at Microsoft building early version of Excel and Word, and grew MSN.com into the #3 site on the internet before launching All Star Directories, an INC500-listed internet publishing company that he sold in 2006. He is a partner in Social Venture Partners (an engaged philanthropy group started in Seattle and now in 25 cities), an advisor to the Seattle Public Library, and board member of KUOW Puget Sound Public Radio where he co-chairs the Strategy Committee.
