Mina Guli

Founder and CEO of Thirstforwater.org

A water advocate, an environmental lawyer and a pioneer athlete, at 22, Mina Guli was told she would never be able to run again after breaking her back. Since then she’s completed several ironman events and ultra marathons. In 2016, Guli became the first person to run 40 marathons across 7 deserts on 7 continents in just 7 weeks, for one reason - to raise awareness about the water crisis. On 30 April 2017, Guli completed 40 marathons in 40 days, along 6 rivers, on 6 continents. She did this to try focus the world’s attention on the global water issue because if we don’t shift things, by 2030 the demand for water will outstrip supply by 40%. Guli is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader. She was named by Fortune as one of the world's 50 greatest leaders.
