Molly Morse

CEO, Mango Materials; Winner, the 2012 Postcode Lottery Green Challenge

Molly is a bioplastics and biocomposites engineer with a background in construction management. She holds a BS in civil and environmental engineering from Cornell University and a PhD in civil and environmental engineering from Stanford University.

While working extensively with Engineers for a Sustainable World, Molly traveled to India, where she saw firsthand the use of temporary building materials in provisional shelters in the wake of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami. Seeing how these temporary materials were only used fleetingly motivated her to investigate and develop sustainable, biodegradable material alternatives.

She launched Mango Materials based off of intellectual property from her Ph.D. research and is currently work with long-time and new colleagues in the quest to produce environmentally friendly plastics from sources of waste.

Molly lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband Tim and her son Blake.
