Nadya Okamoto is 19-years-old, originally from Portland, Oregon, and entering Harvard College this Fall. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Camions of Care, a youth-run global nonprofit that celebrates menstrual hygiene through advocacy, education, and service. In April 2016, she spoke at TEDxPortland about how menstrual hygiene is a key to global development. She is also an editor for School of Doodle, an online media platform for teen girls that fosters creativity and inspiration.
Nadya recently graduated from the Catlin Gabel School in Portland, Oregon, where she was a Malone Scholar. She is now a 2016 Gates Millennium, Coca-Cola, and ELKS Most Valuable Student Scholar. Committed to devoting her efforts to public service and systemic social change, she is interested in pursuing political science, public health, and sociology in college.
