CEO of Arogya World

Dr. Nalini Saligram is a global health advocate and Founder & CEO of Arogya World, a US based non-profit organization committed to changing the course of chronic disease through advocacy and prevention. Through Arogya World, Nalini aims to put a spotlight on chronic diseases under-acknowledged by global and regional policy makers, and to turn that awareness into on-the-ground action. A key focus of the organization is diabetes prevention through lifestyle changes in India, a country with an alarming diabetes burden. Nalini has lived and worked in many parts of the world: Merck in Philadelphia, Glaxo Wellcome in London, Hill & Knowlton in Hong Kong and Merial in Atlanta. While in Atlanta, she also was active with Women’s Legacy at United Way and US Fund for UNICEF. Nalini has a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. She serves on the Dean’s Council at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University and is an active member of The Alliance of Women Entrepreneurs, Philadelphia.
