Nani Coloretti serves as the Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). As the second most senior official at HUD, Ms. Coloretti manages the Department's day-to-day operations, including a $45 billion annual budget and approximately 8,000 employees. Previously, she served as the Assistant Secretary for Management at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Budget Director for San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom. She holds a B.A. in Economics and Communications from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master's in Public Policy from University of California, Berkeley. She grew up in Honolulu and lives in Bethesda, MD with her husband and son.
