Nathan is a graduate student at Hawai’I Pacific University pursuing a Master of Arts in Global Leadership and Sustainable Development. He is currently researching how social relations, community building, and trust affect the ability of Oahu’s fishing community to sustainably manage the ocean and its resources that they love. Nathan is also an active writer and editor at TheSustainableLeader.org, and a social entrepreneur working to build stronger communities in the islands and abroad.

A military veteran and former analyst with the Department of Defense and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Nathan has extensive knowledge and experience in conflict management across Asia, Africa, and Europe. He has also heavily researched food security and unsustainable strategies and practices throughout these continents. Nathan spends his free time with his wife hiking, diving, and talking story with friends and neighbors.
