Author, <i>Island of a Thousand Mirrors</i>
Nayomi Munaweera is a Sri Lankan-American author. Her debut novel, Island of a Thousand Mirrors, was initially published in South Asia in 2013. It was long-listed for the Man Asia Literary Prize and won the Commonwealth Regional Prize for Asia. It was long listed for the Dublin IMPAC Prize and short listed for the DSC Prize for South Asian Literature. It was released in America in 2014 by St. Martin’s Press. Publisher's Weekly has compared Munaweera's work to that of Jumpha Lahiri and Munaweera's countryman, Michael Ondatjee. The New York Times has called her novel "luminous". She is currently at work on her second novel and lives in Oakland, California.
