Understanding Schizophrenia - A Blog of Recovery and Discovery

Neesa Sunar is a mental health advocate from Queens, NYC. In her childhood, she suffered from depression and anxiety, which later snowballed into Schizoaffective disorder with bipolar features by college. She has suffered from symptoms ranging from suicidal ideations and manic spending sprees, to having the conviction that she was once Beethoven, and the Antichrist incarnate. It may seem extreme for her to share these ugly details of her past, but it is her intent to use her story as a sword to fight stigma. For the past few years, she has experienced profound recovery in her condition, and much wisdom and creativity at the end of the tunnel, light and all. She now aspires to share these talents with the world at large.
