Niall O’Dowd is founder of Irishcentral.com, Irish America magazine and Irish Voice newspaper all based in New York. He was also the founder of the Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform.
He is the author of ‘ Fire in the Morning’, published by Brandon Press in 2002 about the Irish at Ground Zero on 9/11 and ‘An Irish Voice’, a memoir published by O’Brien Press in 2010.
He was an adjunct professor of journalism at Columbia University in 2008 and 2009 and was named as one of the most influential New Yorkers by New York magazine in 2006. He has written in The New York Times, Irish Times and Guardian Newspaper.
His role in the Irish peace process was featured in the book Daring Diplomacy by Irish Times journalist Conor O'Clery and also in an Irish Television/PBS documentary entitled An Irish Voice.
