Nicola Orichuia is an Italian journalist who moved to the United States in 2008 to pursue a master’s degree in journalism at Columbia College Chicago.

After an internship at NBCChicago.com and graduating from Columbia in December 2009, he started working for Fra Noi, a monthly publication distributed through the Italian American community of Chicago. He is also a freelance correspondent for Il Punto, a national weekly magazine distributed in Italy.

He started his journalism career in late 2004 at Il Campanile, a daily political newspaper distributed inside the Italian Parliament. He covered international news events such as the Lebanon Peace talks held in Rome in 2006. In the summer of 2007, he became editor of Barrio, a bi-monthly entertainment magazine in Rome. As a freelance journalist his articles were published on Italian national daily newspaper Il Riformista.
