Nina B. Ries

Principal, Ries Law Group

Nina B. Ries has extensive experience in business and real estate, in both litigation and on the transactional side. Because she is just as likely to sit at the defendant's table as she is at the plaintiff's, she can better anticipate the other party's next steps, arguments, and strategy. Ms. Ries's experience as a litigator also benefits her clients in transactional matters. Her experience identifying weaknesses in documents, analyzing the parties' vulnerabilities, and crafting innovative ways to exploit those weaknesses during litigation, means she can apply a litigator's analysis in the drafting of documents and structuring of deals to mitigate her clients' risk upfront. Her firm, Ries Law Group, serves as outside counsel and General Counsel to a number of companies in a variety of sectors, including in real estate, manufacturing, pharmacy, healthcare, tech, start-ups, and in the service industry. Ms. Ries is a Southern California native. She attended college at the University of California at Irvine, where she triple-majored in Political Science (with honors), Philosophy, and Sociology, and was active in a number of campus groups and organizations, including the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She attended law school at the University of Southern California, and refers to USC as “the happiest place on earth.” She is a member of the USC Alumni Association Board of Governors, as well as the UCI Alumni Association Board. She has served three terms as President of the USC Gould School of Law Alumni Association (2012-2015), and was Chair of the USC Alumni Real Estate Network (2015-2016). She is also active with her sorority's alumnae association, serving as President of the Pasadena area alumnae chapter (2014-Present).
