Senior Fellow, Campaign for Grade-Level Reading; Former CEO, Corporation for National Service

Patrick Corvington is the Senior Fellow at the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading responsible for managing the Campaign’s relationships with federal agencies. He served in the Obama administration as the CEO of the Corporation for National and Community Service after working as a senior vice president for Habitat for Humanity International and as a senior associate at the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

A native of Haiti, Corvington is fluent in French, French Creole and Spanish, holds a BA in Sociology from the University of Maryland and an MA in Public Policy from Johns Hopkins. He has focused much of his career on helping non-profit organizations bolster their leadership and organizational development and research capabilities. He has worked as a patient advocate in an HIV/AIDS clinic; traveled the East coast as a case manager for migrant workers; managed a huge housing construction project with President Carter in Haiti, and worked to build the capacity of non-profits in Russia.

The Campaign for Grade-Level Reading is a broad coalition of partners devoted to reversing one of the most serious problems in American education -- some 80 percent of low-income kids can’t read at grade-level by 3rd grade. The Campaign works to develop and support common-sense solutions at the federal, state and local levels.
