I am a journalist, blogger, and podcaster, and the author of five books on science and parenting. My stories have appeared in Discover, The New York Times Magazine, Scientific American, and Psychology Today, among many others. I am also the associate producer of the comedian Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast, and a regular contributor to MedPage Today. I was the science editor and chief science correspondent at the Associated Press from 1981-1996, and a senior editor and writer at Business Week for seven years after that. From 2008-2009, I was the creator, executive producer and host of Innovations in Medicine and The Washington Health Report on XM satellite radio. My work demonstrates a broad familiarity with medicine, genomics, and biotech, and while I haven’t written ad copy, I’m familiar with the major pharma and biotech brands. I try to write with humor, intelligence, grace, and style--qualities that could enhance any project.
