Paul Scham is Associate Research Professor of Israel Studies and Executive Director of the Gildenhorn Institute for Israel Studies at the University of Maryland, where he teaches courses on the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He is co-editor of Shared Histories (2006), which explores the role of Israeli and Palestinian historical narratives in the conflict, and of a 2013 book, Shared Narratives, and has authored a number of articles on the conflict, Hamas, and historical narratives. From 1996-2002, he coordinated Israeli-Palestinian joint research projects at the Truman Institute for Peace of the Hebrew University. Since 2010 he has been Managing Editor of the Israel Studies Review.
