Dr Penny Wilson is general practitioner & obstetrician from Perth, Western Australia. She has recently embarked on a new life as a rural and remote locum doctor, travelling to the far flung corners of Australia and writing the occasional blog post about her adventures. She believes she has the best job in the world and is passionate about providing quality care to her patients and the community.

Penny also has a strong interest in medical education and mentoring, leadership and advocacy and has been a representative for GP trainees to the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), the Australian Medical Association (AMA), Western Australian General Practice Education and Training (WAGPET) and General Practice Registrars Australia (GPRA).

She is excited about the growing use of social media in medicine and is helping other doctors tap into its benefits by contributing to http://www.socialmediagp.org/. Supporter of, and contributor to, the global Free Open Access Medical Education (#FOAMed) movement.
