Perea Blackmon

Perea Blackmon began her teaching career 21 years ago with the District of Columbia Public Schools. She currently teaches a 3rd and 4th grade Montessori class at the Langdon Education Campus. In addition, Mrs. Blackmon supports her colleagues as the Teacher Lead, Grade Level Chairperson and the DIBELS coordinator. During the 2011-2012 school year, Mrs. Blackmon served on the DCPS Chancellor’s Teacher’s Cabinet. In 2011, Mrs. Blackmon was the recipient of the Rubenstein Award for Highly Effective Teaching. Mrs. Blackmon is currently the 2012 District of Columbia State Teacher of the Year.
