Bio: Peter Gray is a research professor of psychology at Boston College. His most recent book is Free to Learn: Why Unleashing the Instinct to Play Will Make Our Children Happier, More Self-Reliant, and Better Students for Life (Basic Books, 2013). He is also author of a college-level introduction to psychology (Psychology, Worth Publishers, now in its 6th edition). He and others have established a website— alternativestoschool.com—to help families find ways to allow their children to take control of their own education.
