Petra Nemcova is founder and chair of the Happy Hearts Fund (HHF), which works to improve children's lives through educational and sustainable programs in natural disaster areas. Since 2005, HHF has directly helped children in post-disaster areas in eight countries: Haiti, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Peru, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Hurricane Katrina-affected areas of the United States. Nemcova’s advocacy efforts have been recognized by the United Nations, Do Something and Women Together.
